Submission Guidelines
Submissions are open on a rolling basis.
Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please notify us if the piece is accepted for publication elsewhere. All submissions must be previously unpublished work. We do not accept AI-generated works.
Fiction and nonfiction manuscripts should be in standard format: legible size 12 in Times New Roman, one-inch margins, and numbered pages. Kindly include your contact information in the upper left-hand corner of the first page.
Email your submission to thrivingwritersmag@gmail.com with the email subject line: Category submission – Name (example: Fiction Submission – John Smith). Include a brief 3-5 sentence bio in third-person.
Fiction:
Submit one short story of up to 7,000 words or up to two (2) shorter pieces of 1,000 words or less.
Poetry:
Submit up to five (5) poems in a single document.
Nonfiction:
Submit one creative nonfiction piece of up to 7,000 words.
Art:
Submit up to ten (10) visual art or photography as a .jpeg or .png file. Please include any titles in your submission.
Process and Rights
We read everything and will respond to your query within 30 days of submission. We are unable to pay contributors at this time, but we will update this page if this changes.
Upon acceptance, we will publish your work online and share it via our newsletter and social media channels.
Thriving Writers has first electronic rights, including the non-exclusive right to archive your work on our website. Rights are reverted back to author once the piece is published. If your work appears elsewhere in future publications, we ask that you credit Thriving Writers.
We aim to be an inclusive publication and will not accept any work that is offensive or hateful toward any group of people.
